Once you have all your residency documents in order, it's time to embark on your journey to Paraguay. The flight to Paraguay is going to be a lengthy one, especially for those of you traveling from the United States or Canada. Just like when flying to any destination, there are both faster and more expensive options, as well as longer but more budget-friendly ones.
The quickest way to reach Paraguay is to book a flight with Copa Airlines, a Panamanian airline and the largest carrier in Latin America. Copa Airlines offers the most efficient direct routes within Latin America, although they are known for their higher prices. If you're flying from the United States, you can take a direct flight to Panama City, Panama, and from there, you can connect directly to Asuncion, Paraguay. Panama's Tocumen International Airport is the largest airport in Latin America, boasting state-of-the-art facilities and cleanliness, along with numerous shops. This makes it an excellent airport for connecting to and from various destinations in Latin America.

Here is a screen shot from Expedia, flights from LAX to Asuncion, Paraguay will cost you around $900. Silvio Pettirossi International Airport is the name of main airport in Paraguay, code is ASU.
If you're planning a journey to Paraguay and have some extra time, I highly recommend adding another country to your itinerary. One of my favorite Latin American cities to visit is Buenos Aires, Argentina, often called the 'Paris of Latin America.' Buenos Aires is conveniently served by Ministro Pistarini International Airport, offering numerous direct flights from American carriers. From Buenos Aires, you can easily catch daily direct flights to Paraguay operated by LATAM Airlines, which will take you to Asuncion in just 1 hour and 50 minutes.

Another country you can explore before or after your visit to Paraguay is Chile. While Chile may not offer daily flights to Paraguay, they do have approximately 3 to 4 weekly flights available, albeit at a slightly higher cost. Santiago, Chile, is an absolutely stunning city nestled in the mountains and is certainly worth dedicating a few days to explore. A flight from Santiago to Asuncion will take 2h 35m.

Paraguay's international airport is remarkably small and easy to navigate, especially when compared to the massive and bustling Latin American airports. It's so compact that I believe it has only one baggage conveyor belt, making the process as simple as clearing customs and picking up your luggage. I highly recommend using Uber for transportation from the airport. I've never encountered any issues with Uber in the country, and their fares are very affordable. I suggest avoiding taxis and sticking with either Uber or Bolt. If you have any other travel-related questions, please don't hesitate to ask me in the Telegram or WhatsApp group.
